Kaka’ako Adventures with Sappy!

Kanani And Kathryn Take Town

Happy Souls Part 1

February 23, 2018

Adulting is HARD… as we all know! Which is why it’s important to fill life with things that make your soul happy. Whether that be sitting on a beach reading a book or hiking up the tallest mountain and enjoying the view, its so important to do things for you! I’ve heard it said, “You have to find that place that brings out the human in you. The soul in you. The love in you.” So my best friend and I decided that this will be our goal this year, a resolution if you will – do more things that make our soul happy.

Before we begin, let me introduce you to my friend, Alyssa Kathryn Sapp. I call her anything but her first name and honestly, I have no clue why! From the very moment I met her, she’s been called Sappy! I called her by her first name and she said, “Meesh don’t call me that it sounds like you’re scolding me!” Haha! Hopefully that gives you a better understanding of our friendship. So if you hear me refer to someone as Sappy or Kathryn, then thats her. She is one of the most unique, quirky, most beautiful and genuine souls i’ve ever met. We only became friends January 15th of last year but we’ve became so close in such a short amount of time by attending the same church, becoming business partners, and just living life and laughing together. ITS CRAZY. Alyssa is both soft and strong, a combination very few have mastered. She walks with grace, speaks with conviction, and loves with compassion; a true beauty after Gods own heart. Not to mention she’s a HUGE dork just like me! LOVE YOU DUDE! If you’re reading this, you’re so amazing and funny and werid and I know God is gonna take you so far in life and I can’t wait to see what kind of things your future holds! Watch out for the menehune’s (inside joke) and also… *ahem*… peanuts. K bye.

Kaka’ako is such a beautiful place! The perfect combo of artsy urban and boho chic! Decorated with murals by local artists, surrounded by the coolest coffee shops, and filled with such genuine, kind, and beautiful people, what better place for 2 millennials to hang out on a saturday morning?! Sappy and I decided to have a little girls day by hitting the town, taking pictures and exploring a different part of our little island. Side note, Sapp has got some mad skills behind a camera! Bruh! Here are some of her shots of me! Mahalo nui loa girl!

The way we have “photoshoots” is we just walk around until we see pretty things or places and shoot as we go! So after maybe 45 minutes of walking around and modeling, we decided we were starving (yes, we are very dramatic so we were starving! haha). We heard of this cute cafe called Arvo and decided to check it out! And I’m so glad we did!

Isn’t it cute? I love coming across new things and meeting new friends! This super hip, trendy, plant-filled cafe is located on 675 Auahi St in Honolulu, HI. I highly recommend you stop by and check it out for yourself if you’re every in the area!

If you know me, you know that I don’t drink coffee. But I’m a sucker for cute things. So you best know that I ordered a latte simply for the latte art. On top of that, Sappy and I ordered their Avocado toast as well as their Nutella toast along with a Matcha Latte for Miss Kathryn. It was so good! It definitely was not enough for us so we went through a McDonalds drive-thru after cause thats how we roll, but regardless, it was still delicious!

I absolutely love going on mini adventures and discovering new things with the people that mean the most to me! Im not sure what adventure we will be going on this month but you’ll definitely be hearing about it in my next post! So on that note, be sure to subscribe and stay updated with all my recent posts!

But what about you? What sets your soul on fire?? What makes you feel alive? What was your most recent adventure? If you could explore with anyone in this world, who would it be? Let me know by leaving a comment! I’d love to hear all about it!

Thank you for reading!

Until next time, love bug!

    Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

    P.S.
Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Regards
    Jan Zac

      Hello!

Wow, thank you so much for stopping by and saying hi! That’s awesome and very sweet of you to reach out!

Wow, that’s amazing! Congratulations! Becoming your own boss and creating your own asset so you don’t need to keep trading time for money is very wise and I sincerely applaud you for doing that, as well as creating a blog to help and encourage others to achieve that!!

I’m very sorry, I am not very knowledgable in this area, especially when it comes to promoting my site. I only recently started blogging last week and I’m learning things as I go. So far, the only thing I have personally done to promote myself was switch my instagram account to a business account because you can link your site on your IG and promote it that way – kinda like allowing social media to work for you! And I have also been utilizing the power of social media and just shouting myself out as well as some friends shouting me out so generously. It has mostly been just word of mouth on my end, though. I’m sorry that I couldn’t really answer that question but I hope that helps! I will definitely let you know if I learn anything new along the way!

I just took a look at your website and I think it looks great! I think it looks very professional and matches the theme of your blog well. I think the only advice I would say is to give your site more life. Although content is very important, appearance plays a huge roll as well simply because people judge by what they see…unfortunately. If you make your site a little more visually appealing by adding color or more pictures and more flare, then it will encourage people to stay and take a closer look at your content! Allow for your personality to show! Btw, your pictures are beautiful! I really want to travel and I loved seeing all your travel photos!

As far as adding your link and allowing you to add mine to yours, I think that thats a great idea to start networking. However, because I am new to the blogging world, I am very hesitant. Let me think about it for a bit and I will definitely let you know if anything. I want to be sure that this is the best decision for me and my blog. I hope you understand. Thank you so much for offering though!

Thanks again for reaching out! It’s always fun meeting new friends! Hopefully we can stay connected. I’d love to hear and learn more about you and your endeavors! Good luck with everything, Jan Zac! 🙂

      God bless!
      xoxo,
      Misha
