Oh, darling, you are more than enough. You are His.

That is what I’ve been able to engrain in my heart and in my thoughts. Such a simple statement yet so bold, courageous and inspired by nothing but truth. When I think about Jesus, my brain automatically goes to light – light beams, light leaks, sun flares and glares, all that fun stuff; all that stuff that makes little ol me feel alive. I think of golden hour and the emotions that overwhelm my body from top to bottom at that specific time of day. I feel a sense of peace, I feel empowered, I feel free. I don’t know why, but it’s just what I feel. I’ve always been a lover of golden hour and my bubbly, curious, kind-hearted spirit has always been known to chase the light. It makes sense though… my goal is to always shine His light. Colossians 1:27 says, “Christ in me, the Hope of Glory.” It is my life’s mission to always be a beacon of God’s light. That whoever I encounter, they see His light and feel His love though me. My Jesus rays is what sets me apart. Why? Because of my journey to discover exactly who I am as a daughter of the Most High. My journey that developed my love for The Light.
Growing up as insecure as I was, overcoming the thoughts of not being good enough, being overlooked, and feeling unwanted was one of the hardest things to do, however, overcoming it was definitely one of my greatest victories. I am not going to lie though, writing it up and reliving what I’ve tried so hard to never think about is difficult. Lol! But God had me where I was so that I can get to where I am now to share with you that it is possible to love yourself and see yourself like He sees you. So with that perspective, I am proud of my past self because if it wasn’t for her, then I would not be the woman I am today. Too often do we live in shame because of what we’ve done in the past. But guys, God doesn’t care about that so neither should you. God doesn’t keep track of past sins, hurts, or habits. He will continuously give you his hand, grace and love without fail. How awesome is that?!
What I found was the root issue of the majority of my problems was the lack of identity I had with my father in heaven. I have a tendency to care so much of what people think about me, it’s ridiculous!! I just want to slap myself sometimes! LIKE SIS, WAKE UP AND STAWP. Lol! But as we all know, things are easier said than done and simply telling myself not to care was never going to be enough until I had a heart transformation and received the revelation that I am His and I am who HE says I am. Also, I found that everything rises and falls on my understanding of not only how God sees me, but how he sees others as well. How I react and respond, what I feel towards someone or a situation all goes back to how I see myself in Christ.
I’ve been waiting to share with you just what these last few months have looked liked, what I’ve learned and why it is so important to understand who you are in Christ. It’s so easy to lose yourself in the things of this world – positions, status, followers, abilities that they say are “greater” than others, and voices that seem to speak so loud it drowns out truth. I’ve been on a journey of self discovery and falling in love with my creator and it’s been great! Understanding more and more about who I am as a daughter of God has affected many areas of my life and these next few blog posts will all tie together in that sense. SO, welcome to my series, I am His. A series that explains my journey of achieving self love, discovery and being deeply rooted in Christ. A series on how I was able to overcome feeling unwanted, unworthy, unsure, and unnoticed by destroying insecurities, breaking chains, and releasing lies. <3
I’m really looking forward to this little series we got going on as a blog fam! Being able to share my testimony and my life experiences (what little I have so far AHAHA. I have seen posts like this before all over Pinterest and I wanted to go ahead and make a list of some of my favorites just so you have something to refer to when you need a little light. I have referred to these countless of times and it has helped me better my understanding of who I am! I hope it helps you!
