35 Acts of Kindness Before 35

So many things to do, such little time! I recently came up with a list of 35 acts of kindness that I would love to do before I turn 35. Being only 21 right now, I would like to think that I have plenty of time to do so, but I realize time flies the older you get. I read on pinterest that kindness is a simple way of telling another struggling soul that there is still love in this world. I definitely want to be somebody who makes everyone feel like a someone. I want to make people feel that they mean something and that they are important. Kindness is free so why not give it away freely whenever we get a chance? This list consists of things I can do right now and things I definitely need money for, haha! But regardless of when I am able to complete it, I want to at least do them all before age 35!

35 acts of kindness before 35

1) Pay for a stranger’s groceries

2) Leave “you’re so amazing” notes randomly

3) Pay for a stranger’s dinner (Probably a family with a lot of children cause I know how that can be.)

4) Teach a friend something new

5) Cook dinner for my parents and grandparents (I can’t cook and all of them cook extremely well so pray for me… haha!)

6) Tip $100 (or more) to a hardworking waiter

7) Volunteer in a children’s hospital

8) Volunteer in a long-term care facility and do arts and crafts and sing songs with the patients

9) Help the homeless by donating food, blankets, toilet paper, tarp, and other necessities (I was blessed with the opportunity to do this with my church a couple times but I want to keep this on my list because its very important to me.)

10) Serve at a homeless shelter

11) Retire my grandparents

12) Send dessert to another table (Find the most expensive thing on the menu! That would be fun!)

13) Buy flowers and send it to all my friends on Valentines Day

14) Offer to babysit for free

15) Donate to Mililani High School’s music program, the Diamond Head Theatre and Central Theatre Arts Academy (Love the arts and want to keep it alive on this island for as long as possible!)

16) Pay for the car behind me in a drive-thru

17) Send christmas gifts to a children’s hospital

18) Pay off grandparents debt

19) Treat entire family to our dream vacation

20) Build wells and homes in 3rd-world countries

21) Buy flowers to give to people on the street

22) Take Giscelle to a (or several) Broadway show(s) of her choice (She LOVES broadway and its her dream to get on broadway. You can do it sis! I believe in you! You’re amazing and so incredibly talented!)

23) Take my future nieces and nephews on a shopping spree (I’m going to be the fun aunty!)

24) Bless all the important women in my life to a spa day

25) Buy the important men in my life something they want but would never think to buy themselves

26) Treat my best friends to a shopping spree and girls day road trip (Mati and Sappy – I promise it will happen!)

27) Donate to ministries such as Ho’ōla Nā Pua, Matt Sorger Ministries, etc.

28) Help pay for a facility for New Hope Haleiwa (We are currently located in a elementary school cafeteria… but not for long in JESUS’ NAME!)

29) Bless my boss and his family with dinner

30) Plant a tree (Why not? haha!)

31) Pay for an expired parking meter

32) Hire a maid for my Momma

33) Send care packages to soldiers overseas

34) Spend an entire day complimenting strangers

35) Lead someone to Christ

There are so many other things I would love to do but these are just the first 35 that popped in my head. People say all the time that we only have one life… so we must live it to its fullest. This is what a full life looks like to me – a life filled with genuine acts of kindness! Keep in mind, I don’t share this to make myself look good…that is definitely NOT my heart. I genuinely want to do these things just because I enjoy making people happy. Also, I hope to inspire someone else out there to spread the aloha and show kindness in their own way.  But anyways, what about you? Have you ever made a list of things you’d like to do before a certain age? Which of these would you want to do, too? Which have you already done? Let me know! Let’s talk about it!

Thanks for reading! Until next time!

This list is such a good idea, Misha! 🙂 I really like how you included the elder generation in the list (like number 8).
Also, this quote: “People say all the time that we only have one life… so we must live it to its fullest.” is soooooo true, and I’m beginning to see this firsthand in this period of my own life. The Monday you posted this, I spent the entire night in the emergency room with my grandmother, who has now entered into hospice (meaning she is expected to pass away within an estimated 6 months from now). So, I’m really seeing now how much this quote is so real and applicable in life.
I think I might take inspiration from this post to focus on being kind to others, instead of getting down in my own circumstances right now.
